Description:
Data spaces can unlock major innovation, but many fail because users and organizations are reluctant to share data. This thesis analyzes the key enablers (e.g., clear value, incentives, trust, governance, technical safeguards) and main barriers (e.g., misuse concerns, competitive risk, legal uncertainty, high effort) that shape data-sharing decisions. The result is a socio-technical framework and practical recommendations for how data space initiatives can increase participation and sustainable data sharing.
